We like Relax Gaming’s slots. And we have reviewed a few of them in the past. Theme & Design

Apparently, this game is a collaboration between the gaming community CasinoGrounds and Relax. CasinoGrounds is a platform created by streamers LetsGiveItASpin, Nickslots, and Skylined87 in 2016. Naturally, when a reel-spinner has the words Book Of in its title, that is a giveaway regarding its genre and theme. So, no surprise there. Book of Power is a slot with an Ancient Egypt motif that draws heavy inspiration from Play’n GO’s Book of Dead, which is a semi-rip off of Novomatic’s Book of Ra, originally a land-based machine. Hundreds of Book Of titles exist in the online gambling landscape. And by some count, this number surpasses eight hundred. However, we are doubtful that this figure is precise.

The presentation in Book of Power has a high-end feel to it. We would call it Book of Dead on steroids. Of course, the line animation is present here when winning combos occur, showing you what payline you hit with what symbols. The backdrop of Book of Power is an Egyptian structure of some sort, with two statues flanking the reel grid, which has a very Book of Dead vibe. The visuals here are 2D, but they are painterly graphics with some depth to them, so they give off a 3D feel, and the symbols feature gif-like movements for subtle hints of visual dynamism. Overall, everything here seems super polished. The music is cliché, but when playing this game via the auto-play function, the soundtrack blends in nicely with the audio effects, adding a sense of tension and that historical vibe.

That is somewhat high concerning the variance level.

You create winning combinations in this spinner when landing two to five matching tokens on a payline. Note that the low-pay symbols in play, 10-A royals, paying x10 to x15 for five-of-a-kind combos, require at least three identical tokens to yield a reward. The premiums here are Ancient Egypt-inspired images, plus two different-colored books, and they can lead to wins of x75 to x500 when five matching ones from this batch materialize in view on the same reel rotation.

Note that Books are wild in Book of Power, substituting all the regular pay tokens, and they are also the scatters.

Bonus Features

When hitting three to five books on the 5×3 grid, that results in ten, fifteen, or twenty on-the-house spins.
