Bitcoin Baccarat Guide – Playing at the Best Bitcoin Baccarat Sites

Baccarat often gets a bad name for itself, and that is entirely unjustified. Many players have watched James Bond sit at gold-gilded tables, burning through stacks in a bid to outfox an enemy, and automatically assume that the game is either far too rich for them or too complicated. In reality, bitcoin baccarat is neither. It can be very affordable and isn’t that complicated once you understand the basics.

Once you understand how the game works, we firmly believe that you’ll feel excited and comfortable betting with bitcoins on this casino classic. To help you accomplish that, we’ve put together this cracking guide. Join us as we explore the game, look at how it works, showcase a few tips, and introduce you to top bitcoin baccarat casinos. With that said, let’s dive straight in.

Understand How to Play Bitcoin Baccarat

Forget about what you’ve heard – learning to play bitcoin baccarat is not challenging. In fact, there is far more work involved in learning how cryptocurrencies work than understanding the basic gist of baccarat. Let us guide you through it.

The Basics

Each numbered baccarat card is worth its face value in, with tens and faces worth nothing at all, and aces worth one point. At the same, you must decide which hand you are going to bet on (the banker’s or the player’s hands) or a tie. Once this is done, two cards are dealt to each hand.

The value of the two cards in each hand are added together to give a total. Remember, tens and faces count as zero. A hand of five and two is, therefore, worth seven points. A hand of three and a Jack is worth three points. Card hands cannot be worth more than nine points, but you can’t bust, unlike blackjack. Therefore, if you have a hand worth more than nine points, you subtract ten from the total. For instance, a hand of three and nine would mean twelve. As that cannot happen, we subtract ten to give the hand a new value of twelve.

The hand which gets closest to nine is declared the winner. Note that you won’t be controlling the cards – the dealer does this for you. You are solely betting on the winning hand.

The Third Card Rule

On occasion, a third card must be drawn. This is where we will freely admit that the rules become a bit tricky to remember. Here’s the critical part – you don’t have to know them. You will either be betting on an RNG (random number generator) game or with a live human dealer and the third card, if required, will be dealt with automatically.

A third baccarat card will be doled out to a player’s hand if the hand is worth between 0-5 points. If the player’s hand is worth 6-7, it stands. The banker may also take a third card, and when they do so will depend entirely on the value of the player’s hand. Again, you don’t need to learn this, but if you want to, there are ample resources out there when you can check this out.

Winning at Baccarat

As touched on, the hand (either the player’s or the banker’s hand) that ranks the highest (closest to nine) wins. A nine is called a natural. Betting on the banker’s hand and winning offers you a 0.95:1 payout, as there is a 5% commission to the house. Winning player hands pay 1:1, while ties pay 8:1 or 9:1, depending on where you play.

Exploring Baccarat Variants

As you can see from above, playing bitcoin baccarat is not as challenging as it first seems. Once you’ve got to grips with the basic game, there are some exciting bitcoin baccarat variants you may wish to explore. While you certainly wouldn’t want to jump into playing these variants from the start, we should cover them, so you know what is available later. They include:

Chemin de Fer

Chemin de Fer is usually played in high roller bitcoin casinos. It is played with six decks, with each player taking turns (if they wish) to be the banker and take control of the game. The player who has made the highest bet then takes control of the player hand and has the liberty to choose if they wish to take a third card (or not), breaking from the tradition of being forced to.

Baccarat Banque

Much like Chemin de Fer, Baccarat Banque is a game that permits each player to become a banker. Three decks are used in this game. The player is dealt two hands (one to the banker’s left and one to the right), while the banker’s hand has just one. Players must then decide whether to bet on the left or right hand. They may not bet on the banker’s hand. It is predominantly European bitcoin casinos that feature this game.

Mini Baccarat

Mini baccarat may sound like a tempting game. This is a fast-paced variant, and the casino has a lower house edge than in classic baccarat. The game is played with low stakes, making it ideal for beginners. It uses six decks instead of the default eight.

Baccarat: Super Six

The primary rules changes you need to know in Super Six is that wins on the banker’s hand pay even money unless the banker’s hand wins with a six-point total. Then the prize is valued at 0.50:1. If you place a Super Six side-bet, you can win 12:1 instead on this eventuality.

No Commission Baccarat

This version of baccarat is popular, as it does away with the commission usually paid on winning banker’s hands. However, much like Super Six, winning banker hands pay 1:1 except if the banker wins with a six-point total. Then the payout is 0.50:1. Side-bets are not normally available in this game, marking out from the remarkably similar Super Six game.

Baccarat Squeeze/Baccarat Controlled Squeeze

Exclusively available when betting with bitcoins on live baccarat games, Baccarat Squeeze and Baccarat Controlled Squeeze essentially allow players to enjoy a custom. It is common for players to touch the cards in Asia, known as squeezing, for luck. Obviously, this cannot happen with a live-streamed bitcoin baccarat game. Instead, the cards are presented to players with an HD camera, so they can mimic squeezing them at home. For all intents and purposes, other aspects of this game are the same as any run-of-the-mill bitcoin baccarat game.

The Advantages of Playing Baccarat with Bitcoin

There are distinct advantages to playing baccarat with bitcoin, as opposed to fiat currencies. We’ve laid them out bare for you below, and they include:

Super-Fast Transaction Times

Bitcoin is superior to fiat currency payment options when it comes to cashing out your winnings. Most bitcoin withdrawals take less than an hour to leave the casino and arrive in your e-wallet.

More Anonymity

Bitcoin casinos may not have a KYC process. This is handy if you want to remain anonymous when betting on baccarat with cryptocurrencies.

Top Tips for Betting on Bitcoin Baccarat Games

Now that you know how the game works, perhaps it is time for you to explore some of our top tips for betting on baccarat with bitcoin? We’ve detailed a few of our secrets for you below. Pay attention to these, and they will improve your game. You have our word on that!

Bet on the Banker’s Hand

Betting on the banker’s hand is where the smart money is. Yes, you will only pocket winnings of 0.95:1 because of the commission to the house, but the banker’s hand is more likely to land. The house edge of 1.06% (compared to the player’s hand’s edge of 1.24%) is more favourable.

Understand Baccarat Strategy

There are baccarat strategy guides you can find out there. Most follow a printable chart that tells you how to bet and when it is time to switch over. In our opinion, we’d recommend sticking with the hand you’ve bet on (the banker’s or player’s hand) and avoid mixing it up too much.

Avoid Side-Bets

There are some attractive side-bets in baccarat. However, we would strongly suggest that you stick to the basic game. While they do have epic payouts – and we’re looking at Evolution’s Lightning Baccarat and its multipliers here – we often find that they just aren’t worth the expenditure in most games.

Don’t Bet on the Tie

We strongly suggest you avoid betting on the tie. While it is worth the most (8:1 and 9:1 in most sites, but up to 11:1 in some games), the tie bet has a 14.4% house edge, so it is best to avoid it.

Check Those Table Limits

While baccarat is not the expensive table game is often mistaken for, there are undoubtedly high roller tables out there. Double-check the table limits before you decide to wager on baccarat with bitcoin.

Finding the Ideal Bitcoin Baccarat Casino

All the remains is for you to find a top cryptocurrency casino offering bitcoin baccarat games. As it happens, we know just the place. In fact, we’ve got dozens of top sites to recommend to you. Here are some of the things we look for in our recommended bitcoin baccarat casinos…

Do all bitcoin casinos offer baccarat games?

Most do, yes. However, the array of live dealer and RNG bitcoin baccarat games you can play will likely vary. We’d recommend choosing one of our promoted casinos, as these all offer you great coverage in that department.

Can I play live baccarat with BTC stakes?

Again, this can vary from site to site. Some BTC casinos accept bitcoin deposits (and withdrawals) but won’t let you wager with the cryptocurrency. We’d avoid these. Top live casino providers have developed BTC-friendly live baccarat games, so there is no excuse for a site not having this option, in our opinion.

Are baccarat and punto banco the same thing?

Yes. You may have heard of punto banco before, and if so, that’s fine. Don’t worry – punto banco and baccarat are identical. Baccarat is the original name and comes from the Italian, Baccara. Punto Banco is Spanish and is more common in the United States. As you might imagine, it translates rather fittingly as “point bank”.
