Pilot Game Review

GOSU GAME REVIEW

Intro

Gamzix is a relatively new interactive gaming product developer that became operational in 2020, with offices from Estonia (Tallinn) and a primary studio headquartered in Ukraine (Kyiv). Its RNG software got certified by iTech Labs in June of 2020, and so far, it has released around fifty titles, primarily slots, but also several crash-like games. Amongst these is Pilot, which in all honesty, is a copycat title, one that mimics Spribe’s highly successful Aviator release.

Pilot showed up in the interactive gaming landscape in September 2022. And while it has not come close to reaching the success level of Aviator, for a game with provably fair-style simplistic gameplay, it has done fairly well in multiple markets. Below, we examine it in-depth, telling you how it stacks up against other crypto crash competitors.

How Does Pilot Work

Pilot’s gameplay is the traditional Bustabit/crash mechanic, meaning gamblers should brace themselves for a thrilling ride where after placing their bets, a multiplier represented by an ole-timey small plane starts climbing upwards toward the sky, teasing potential riches. But beware, this craft can crash any time, and with it goes its multiplier to the annals of history and your stake with them. So, in Pilot, it is all about the heart-pounding anticipation of bailing out at the right time and grabbing the winning amount this game provides by listening to your gut.

How to Play Pilot

Gamzix’s Pilot asks you upon loading if you want to have the sound on for your game round or not. After making this choice, you get presented with two betting mini-interfaces. Each one has a bet adjuster where via plus/minus buttons, you can set your stake size. However, you can also pick a bet amount from several ones left of the Place a Bet function. Once you determine the sum you wish to wager, you can click the latter mentioned button, forcing the game plane to begin flying. Note Pilot also offers an auto cash-out option, which starts at x1.01.

So, the game lets you make two bets in a round, and you can cash out on these at different times. That allows you to turn a small profit on one of the wagers and go for a higher multiplier on the other. You can also take advantage of a 50% cash-out feature here, which is lovely.

Where Can You Play Pilot

Going by our research, Gamzix’s products can get found at somewhere between one hundred and fifty and two hundred online casinos. From our batch of highlighted crypto-gambling hubs, high-quality ones that house Pilot are BitStarz, mBit Casino, and 7Bit Casino.

But, at any time, other BTCGOSUrecommended platforms may add Gamzix’s catalog or some of this provider’s creations. So, maybe better-reviewed BTCGOSU crypto casinos may feature Pilot when this page finds you.

Pros

  • Terrific max win
  • Super lightweight
  • 50% cashout feature

Cons

  • Aviator rip-off
  • No bonus features

Graphics Quality

As mentioned in the pros & cons table above, this game is a blatant rip-off of Spribe’s Aviator. It looks and plays almost identically to that product. Nevertheless, it is not there style-wise because the flat plane illustration here lacks the retro vibe that Aviator has and is a bit too sharp. It feels a bit too Adobe Illustrator-drawn. Though, we will say that the propeller animations in Pilot are way better than in Aviator. The landscape the plane soars over here is a straight, grid pattern, representing the land the plane is flying over, and it remains static, giving a very 2D atmosphere to Pilot, not in a good way.

Again, like in Aviator, the aircraft also fills the screen with a semi-transparent red as it flies up, with a multiplier number front and center growing. So, if you’ve played that game, this one will look eerily similar.

The crash animation in Pilot is a bit cartoony, and the music is easy-listening elevator fare. As you would expect with a crash game, the presentation here is rather basic.

User Experience

Not to repeat ourselves, but Pilot’s interface is very similar to the one its source of inspiration, Aviator, uses. If you click the three-bar/hamburger icon in the top right here, you can toggle the animations and sounds off and on and check your betting history and the rules. Plus, read about Pilot’s fairness guidelines. At the top of the main game is a bar with multipliers attained by other players, and you have an info panel on the left, where you can view the best made, past ones, only yours, and the records put up on Pilot.

We cannot say that the UX is bad here. Experienced crypto casino users should find everything quickly and intuitively, but the UX design is not modern. It has that indie crypto vibe from the mid-2010s, which is not something we hate but feels a bit passe. We are merely stating the obvious.

Pilot Game

Tension & Anticipation Value

The levels of expectancy and excitement you will undergo while playing Pilot should not substantially differ from the ones that other crash games deliver. There is nothing out of the ordinary about the presentation of this Gamzix release that will make your heart pound more than it would when you are enjoying classic provably fair picks.

RTP & Variability

Gamzix has set the return-to-player spec of Pilot at 96.5%, which is 0.5% lower than Spribe’s Aviator. Nonetheless, it is still in the acceptable crash gambling range for options supplied by third-party providers. And the variance/volatility here is medium, which we predicted it would be.

Min/Max Multipliers

The lowest multiplier at which a player can turn a profit in Pilot is x1,01, and the highest anyone can hit in this game is x1,000.

House Edge

Now, if the RTP of Pilot gets listed at 96.5%, the casino advantage of this product is 3.5%.

Winning Strategies

There are none that will work with any degree of consistency. You can try progressive betting patterns, but those are super risky. Thus, the best course of action, like with all crash gambling options, is to bail out of a round before the multiplier grows to x1.2 or x1.3. And by adhering to this principle, you face decent winning odds on every flight.

Summary – Is Pilot Worth It?

Naturally, the choice of if you should select Pilot as your crash gaming pick is subjective, guided by one’s personal preferences. While this game is almost a clone of Aviator, it does boast a higher max win, though the variance level is more towards medium, and the RTP is lower. So, things sort of even out in the long run. Still, if you cannot find Aviator at your chosen crypto casino, Gamzix’s Pilot is a worthy substitute, and on its own, it is a decent crash product. Mainly, due to its take 50% button, which lets you snag half of your stake at any point. That is something we love here and is a feature we wish all crash gaming options would incorporate.
