Reel Kingdom products have made their way onto BTCGOSU before, falling under our examining eye. The titles that this developer creates, which Pragmatic Play distributes, have made industry waves before. That particularly holds for Big Bas Bonanza. Spirit of Adventure is the 23rd game that Reel Kingdom has produced, and in all honesty, you never know what to expect from them. However, it appeared online on April 25, and it is too soon to tell how it will chart. That is the impression we have gotten from the initial player and review reception it has received so far. We assume that it might go on to do similarly great things as its other Reel Kingdom siblings.

Theme & Design

Though it never gets made exceptionally clear anywhere, we can safely assume that the inspiration for Spirit of Adventure is Amelia Earhart. For the uninformed, that is the famous American aviation pioneer that flew solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She disappeared somewhere near Howland Island, over the Pacific, during her attempt to become the first woman to circumnavigate the planet via an airplane. She was thirty-nine at the time of her disappearance, and despite the fact that the gun-toting main character of this game seems much younger, we have no doubts that she has gotten based on Earhart, at least partially.

Visually, this slot is way above other Reel Kingdom releases. The painterly graphics here are beautiful, especially if you compare them to entries in the Big Bass series. We almost get the impression that Pragmatic’s design team handed Reel Kingdom some tips on making this product look so appealing to the eye. That said, some of the symbol images seem a bit low-quality, not entirely fitting in with the awesomeness of the jungle landscape that takes up Spirit of Adventure’s background. The subtle animations do help add a sense of liveliness to the scene.

We have to say. We were fans of the movie-like soundtrack that plays in this game during its bonus round. Even though the sound effects did not wow us here and were average at best.

The button interface of Spirit of Adventure is the one that Pragmatic Play utilizes. It has the spin and bet-adjuster options on the right side of the screen and the mute, info, and settings one on the left.

Wins form in this slot when three to five matching symbols appear on the game grid, on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost one. The low-paying tokens in this game are A to 10 royals. They all produce prizes of x10 for five-of-a-kind. The high-paying symbols are groups of relics and diamonds. They yield prizes of x20 to x200 for five matching images from this group appearing in view on the same spin.

The heroine of this game is its Wild, the slot logo is the Scatter, and the Island symbol is the bonus one.

Bonus Features

The main attraction of Spirit of Adventure is this spinner’s Free Spins round. You enter it by landing three to five Scatters to win eight, ten, or twelve complimentary reel rotations. Alternatively, you can experience this mode by hitting one island symbol on the game’s middle reels. It will also trigger this round supplying you with a guaranteed twelve free spins.

In this round, the relic symbols are money ones, and at every spin, they take up a different value. The Tiki-like mask is the most valuable of this batch, yielding a max multiplier of x5,000 your bet. Moreover, in this feature, the Wild heroine moves around at random positions on the grid, replacing what it lands over. Then, this Wild gathers all the values of the relics adjacent to it, in all directions, vertically, horizontally, and diagonally. So, every time a money token gets collected, three or four times, depending on the relic, the relic it represents also gets collected in a trail. For example, each time four sword relics get collected in a trail, all future money collections with this Wild will get multiplied by x2. Each relic requires a specific collection number, boasting a new multiplier, up to x10. Three, four, or five complimentary reel rotations get awarded when a trail meter fills. But no more than the amount that initially got awarded. After this mode concludes, a 1×1 totem symbol shows up on the reels. It moves randomly about the grid, along with the Wild. That continues until these two wind up in the same position.

If the Island token hits in this mode, random relics with random values will get added into view on various arbitrary positions.
