In May 2025, Stakelogic released Stone Gaze of Medusa, a high-variance spinner with an RTP of 95.99% and a max win of x10,000. It must have done well somewhere, despite what the rankings tell us, as Stakelogic has come out with a sequel to this game, one that showed up on exclusive platforms in mid-March 2025 and then got global distribution a month later. The studio’s team has added a Megaways-type engine to this sequel, and it has bolstered its presentation a tad, but will that be enough to impress us and make us recommend this novel Stakelogic creation? Design & Theme

Fans of Greek mythology probably know all about Medusa. Even those who did not pay attention to history class likely know who this mythological figure is, as she has gotten featured in loads of pop culture mediums, especially movies and cartoons. Medusa famously rose to prominence via the original Clash of the Titans film, but she is also a character in Disney’s Hercules: The Series. In Greek mythology, she is one of the three Gorgon sisters, the other two being Euryale and Stheno, and she is best known for having snakes for hair and turning anyone who looks at her to stone. As depicted in the Clash of the Titans films, old and new, she gets beheaded by Perseus, who tricks her by using a mirrored shield to avoid her gaze.

We were surprised to find that almost two hundred online slots feature Medusa in some form. In all honesty, we did not expect such a high figure. The atmosphere Stakelogic’s team was going for was ominous, we guess, and they did a good job of capturing it. But we cannot say that the visuals are particularly attractive here, and you do not get much in terms of a soundtrack, only subtle mood-setting music. The interface is pretty easy to navigate, with all the buttons below the reel grid, and the Bonus Buy button left of the symbol setup, below the multiplier and tumble win info.

Its multipliers and power symbols are okay, and so is its Megaways-type gameplay and free spin bonus. But overall, these things, paired with the average presentation here, are not enough to make this cluster-pay game stand out dramatically and make it a must-play.
