We cannot go a month without checking out what Pragmatic Play is doing. Our favorite Malta-based provider recently signed a live casino content deal in Italy with the Sportbet brand. Unfortunately, Wild Wild Bananas seems to have been a misfire from Pragmatic, as this game failed to rank in most top markets and got a lukewarm reception from fans. Clearly, Wild Wild Bananas’ theme is a tropical island where bananas grow. Should we bombard you with multiple random facts about this fruit in a slot review? We think – why the heck not? Did you know that more than one thousand varieties of bananas exist, grown in more than a hundred and fifty countries? How about that nearly all bananas sold in the US are cavendish, or that April 17th is National Banana Day? Okay, enough with everyone’s favorite botanical berry. Lets’ get to this reel-spinners presentation.

First, know that Wild Wild Bananas is more-or-less another take on Pragmatic’s Wild Wild Riches, the company’s established Irish Luck game. Even though, to us, it appears that Pragmatic has begun a shift towards creating more complex games. Products boasting more intricate gameplay, Wild Wild Bananas does not stray far from the company’s classic approach, targeting casual gamblers. The visuals here are excellent. They are painterly graphics that have the standard Pragmatic flair. They are colorful and vibrant and have a children’s cartoon vibe. The setting here is a tropical beach, with waves coming into shore, while the reels spin inside a frame constructed by what we assume to be bamboo sticks.

A light, relaxing beach tune acts as the soundtrack for Wild Wild Bananas, but it sadly gets dominated by the various win and spin effects that ruin the tone it sets. Slight symbol animations play on winning spins, keeping things upbeat and zesty. The Wild Wild Bananas slot utilizes the standard transparent buttons interface that Pragmatic has used for several years.

The symbol position layout in Wild Wild Bananas is a 3-3-4-4-4 one, a slightly different grid setup from the 2-2-4-4-4 one in Wild Wild Riches. The RTP setting here can range from 94.1% to 96.1%, with the default setting being 95.1%. Pragmatic has adjusted the variance at high, the number of paylines at twenty-five and the betting slider moves here from $0.3 to $125. The max exposure of this game is x12,000, which we found to be super impressive.

You form prize-producing combos in Wild Wild Bananas by lining up at least three symbols on connected positions on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost one. The low-pay symbols of this slot are different colored gems, producing wins of x0.4 to x0.6 for five-of-a-kind combinations. A lily flower, a snake, a parrot, a monkey, and a girl characters are the premiums, generating rewards ranging from x0.8 to x4 for five identical instances of them landing on the game’s layout on the same reel rotation.

The wild is the word itself, substituting all pay tokens but not the scatter, which is a golden monkey holding a diamond.

Bonus Features

Wild Wild Bananas has an ante bet feature that increases your stake by 20% and doubles your chances of gaining entry into the free spins round, which you can access by landing wilds on the first two reels and a scatter/bonus symbol on the third one. That will result in ten on-the-house reel rotations. In this round, more wilds and banana tokens are in play. What are banana tokens? These show up on reels three, four, and five. When they hit, they can have a multiplier from x1 to x25 attached. To collect these values, you must land a wild on the first and second reels alongside bananas carrying multipliers. And, if golden bananas materialize on the third, fourth, and fifth reels during the free spins round, they will increase the number of symbol positions on their landed reel by x1 up to a size of eight per reel.

Keep in mind before playing that instead of direct values, bananas may also display jackpot multipliers only when they show up on the fifth reel. These can be Mini, Major, or Mega ones, meaning they can have x50, x100, or x500 values attached.
