NetEnt’s Hotline slot entered the iGaming sphere in March of 2018 and quickly became one of the hottest car racing reel-spinners ever. Though, in all fairness, it did not face much competition. Theme & Design

Street Racer is a car racing game set in Las Vegas. The action takes place in a deserted Sin City street during night-time, as you see four cars lined up to race and an attractive girl ready to signal. Famous Vegas landmarks fill its background, starting from MGM’s golden lion to Paris Las Vegas’ half-scale Eiffel Tower replica. The backdrop is a blue-tinted painting with some overlaid light animations, which add some pizzazz to the scene. If you have played any of the old Need for Speed and Gran Turismo games, you will get the feeling that this title is trying to emulate. Powerful-looking cars with unnecessary spoilers raise smoke as their tires burn from spinning on asphalt. Once you enter the Free Spins, the race begins, and all the vehicles go into hyper-drive as you chase after big wins.

We have to say that Street Racer has a bit of an arcade vibe to it. The logo design reminded us of some late-1990s and early-2000s arcade-racing machines, such as Hydro Thunder and San Francisco Rush. The characters also seem to resemble ones out of famous beat-em-up games. The soundtrack has a Japanese-style arcade midi-feel. It amps up in the bonus round. When it comes to presentation, Pragmatic does a fine job here as well. Their art department always delivers.

Street Racer utilizes the same Pragmatic Play button set-up that the provider incorporates in all of its releases. The big spin button is on the right side of your screen. Under it is the auto-spin function, and to its sides are the plus and minus bet-adjusters. On the left side of this semi-transparent panel are the mute, info, and settings options. In the middle is your win info.

Street Racer is a five-reel, four-row slot with forty paylines. It is a high variance game that has a slightly above-average RTP of 96.52%. You form winning combinations by landing three to five identical symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost one. The game’s low-paying symbols are card suits. The premium batch consists of five racer characters, three guys, and two gals. Their names are Firefly, Alpha, Bolt, Ignite, and Vapor. A speedometer is this game’s Wild, landing only on the second, third, and fourth reel. It substitutes all other symbols except for the Scatter, which has the word free spins all over it. It only appears on reels one, three, and five.

Bonus Features

You need three or more Scatters to enter the Free Spins round. Note that this mode is a bit more complicated than what you may have grown accustomed to seeing from Pragmatic. Before this round starts, you must select your racer, one of the five previously mentioned characters. The round features a five-lap race, which you complete by collecting three nitro canisters. Each new race awards more free spins.
