It has been a couple of weeks since we posted a Pragmatic Play review, and during this gap, this Malta-based company has already released three new games. However, we chose to look slightly back and give you the low-down of a Pragmatic Play title that hit the Web at the very end of February, Jasmine Dreams. That is a slot that gained worldwide availability on March 9th, 2023, and like all fresh Pragmatic releases, it is also doing fairly well in most markets. We opted to review it because we cannot remember the last time we looked at an Arabic-themed spinner. So, here is a novel one to consider and why, in our opinion, you should play it or avoid it.

Theme & Design

With just one glance at this slot, it instantly becomes clear that the motif implemented utilizes the One Thousand and One Nights tales. That is a collection of Golden Age Middle Eastern folk stories.

Essentially, the name Jasmine and the Arab world get primarily linked together thanks to the story of Aladdin and the Magical Lamp. Though, in the original tale, the princess’s name is Badroulbadour. Jasmine is only a name that Disney screenwriters chose to use for its cartoon that has now become synonymous with the story of Aladin and his jinn. Per our research, over two hundred spinners boast a historical Middle East theme, and many rely on the cited folk collection for inspiration. At the time of writing, Luxor Gold Hold and Win from Playson and Riches of Caliph by Endrophina are making sizeable waves in the interactive gaming sphere comparable to Jasmine Dreams’ ones.

With the motif out of the way, there is not much to say about this slot’s presentation. It looks and plays like 90% of all Pragmatic Play releases. It has the same quality painterly vibrant graphics, a suitable soundtrack, and nifty symbol animations to boot. The backdrop here is a Middle Eastern city from several centuries ago, and the reels here spin inside a golden ornamented frame with the game’s logo at the top.

Jasmine Dreams has the standard Pragmatic Play button setup, and in our eyes, the start of the show here is the base-game tune, which does a decent job of setting the mood with its Arabic-infused instrumental bursts now and again. It also ramps up its pace in the bonus round quite nicely. We hated the win noises here, as we frequently do when they are too loud and take center stage. Also, Jasmine Dreams recycles some of them. For example, the free spins alert is one you have likely heard many times over in different Pragmatic games.

Again, since this is a Pragmatic Play slot aimed at casual online gamblers, we did not expect diverse gameplay. So wins here happen when you form matching-symbol combos of at least three identical tokens on this title’s twenty paylines. Its variance is high, and its default RTP is 96.48%. The betting range here is $0.2-$100, and the max win is x2,500. The top prize in Jasmine Dreams should get produced every three million spins, in theory.

The symbols appearing on the 5×3 grid here divide into two categories, the low-pay royals, and high-pay illustrations. The first produce wins of x2 to x5 for five-of-a-kind combos. The latter, the premiums (a knife, a ring, a chest, and a prince) yield rewards of x10 to x30 when five identical tokens from this batch materialize on the screen. Note that you only need two princes to snag a prize, and the rest of the symbols require at least three instances of them to show up on a playline on adjacent reels.

Bonus Features

Jasmine Dreams does not have a wealth of bonus features. It only has its expanded wilds and free spins round. You access the latter mode by hitting at least three scatters, which supplies six on-the-house reel rotations. Inside this feature, landed wilds that hit partially or fully add an x1 multiplier to a global one that gets applied to all the wins from that spin. Also, any screen with a wild overlaid on three positions, meaning all the grid’s rows, will carry an x2 multiplier. If you manage to hit two expanded wilds covering three rows apiece, they will produce an x3 multiplier. And if you have three such symbols, you will get an x4 multiplier.

You cannot retrigger the Jasmine Dreams free spins, and when a wild lands overlaid on one of two symbol spots, the game gives you a re-spin while nudging said wild one spot up. The re-spins will go on until on-screen wilds cover their respective reels.
