And, we are back to analyzing yet another game from the most consistent provider in all of iGaming. That is right. We are looking at a new release from Malta-based Pragmatic Play. If you have been following our site for an extended period, you likely know where we stand concerning Pragmatic. They make above-average games that cater to casuals, ones that rarely wow us but are virtually always decent. Bounty Gold is the latest addition to their Gold brand. We cannot call it a series because these games have nothing in common except sharing the name of the chemical element of the atomic number 79 in their title. Bounty Gold got released on November 1st, and it received generally mixed reviews, despite it quickly shooting up into the top fifty rankings. Below, we inspect if this criticism was well earned or not.

Theme & Design

Naturally, the theme here is the Wild West. By our stats, there are over three hundred reel-spinners that use this motif. It wasn’t too long ago that Pragmatic unleashed two Wild West slots with the word Gold attached to them. These were Cowboys Gold and Wild West Gold. You can check out our review of the first. We rated it as solid. But, in all honesty, this title from Pragmatic resembles more Wild West Gold than Cowboys Gold, which had an Iron Maiden visual vibe to it.

The 2D graphics here are painterly and are a bit on the cartoony side. The reels spin inside a wooden frame, while the background is an image of an empty city street. Presentation-wise, this product both looks like a Pragmatic one, but it also slightly differs from the company’s style. The characters of the game and most of the symbols have a children’s cartoony look. Color vibrancy is also at a maximum, conveying an upbeat atmosphere. The music is classically decent, and so are the accompanying sound effects. However, while everything is adequate, nothing is impressive, nor does anything feel fresh about Bounty Gold.

The button’s panel is the standard transparent one that Pragmatic Play uses for all their games. The spin button and the bet-adjuster are in the bottom right of your screen, and everything else is in the bottom left.

Specs & Gameplay

Bounty Gold is a high variance spinner with a default RTP of 95.5% and twenty-five payline. The return-to-player setting of this game can go down to 94.5% at some operators and as high as 96.5% at others. So, remember to always check before spinning. Bounty Gold uses a layout comprised of five reels and three rows. Bet sizes here range from $0.25 to $125, and the max exposure is x5,000 a player’s stake.

Wins get awarded on Bounty Gold when you hit three to five adjacent symbols, left to right, on a defined payline. The low-paying symbols of this slot are A-J royals. All of these pay a prize of x2 for landing five identical symbols on a payline. A horseshoe, cowboy’s hat, and the two main characters are the game’s high-paying symbols. For five-of-a-kind on a line, these can yield rewards of x3 to x8 your bet. The female outlaw is the most valuable token from this batch.

The word Wild is the Wild here. It substitutes all other symbols except for the Money one. Wilds appear on all reels but the first one. A golden bag with a dollar symbol is the Money symbol, present on all five reels.

Bonus Features

If you hit six or more Money symbols in the base game, you activate the Money Respin mode. These symbols can also land as fiery ones, awarding a money value immediately.

In the Money Respins mode, the game can get played on up to four 3×5 grids. That means that the action moves from the base grid to a new screen with four 3×5 layouts. If you have triggered this feature with six money symbols, one of these is active. The other three remain locked. Landing nine Money symbols will activate two grids, eighteen will unlock three, and twenty-six – will make all four available. Here, the standard game symbols disappear, and only the activating Money tokens remain. You kick things off in this mode with three respins, and when Money symbols land, they stick in place while resetting your number of complimentary reel-rotations to three again. The feature concludes when you have used up your free spins or filled all the positions with Money tokens. When you unlock a new grid, all the values of your Money symbols inside it get multiplied. The multiplier in play is x2 for the second grid, x3 for the third, and x4 for the fourth.

Filling the first grid with money symbols gets you a jackpot of x25 your total bet, the second x50, the third x500, and the fourth x5000.
