Theme & Design

The reason why people like to compare this slot to Novomatic’s Book of Ra Deluxe is that the two undoubtedly share similarities. Though Ra visually is a darker game and features more saturated colors, this game is easier on the eyes.

Book of Dead plays out in front of an entrance to an ancient pyramid. Hieroglyph inscribed columns flank the reel grid and reseed into the background. Its soundtrack gets a little overbearing, as it features your stereotypical Egyptian-like music. However, it is the sound effects that are the major distraction, as they mix in with the music, and at times, this concoction becomes unbearable. It reminded us of Egypt-themed strategy games such as Sierra Studio’s classic – Pharaoh. The button design is also reminiscent of older RPG browser titles and feels outdated.
