Pork Knox Slot Review
2021 was an eventful year for NetEnt. The Swedish company forged several business partnerships, and it continued its push to break through into North America. It teamed up with Amelco, a sports betting and trading service, which agreed to add NetEnt products to its comprehensive casino catalog. However, when it comes to releasing high-quality slots, this was somewhat of a modest year for the renowned Swedish brand. They published around a dozen reel-spinning products, primarily focusing their advertising on promoting their sequels to established games.
Pork Knox is a novel spinner from NetEnt that hit the digital sphere in mid-August 2021 and failed to make any noise whatsoever. It never even got into ranking among the top 5,000 most-played slots at any point. Still, we’ve played it a couple of times and are of the opinion that it deserves a little more attention than what it is getting. So, we have decided to create some space on BTCGOSU for this unheralded online slot.

Theme & Design
Fort Knox is a famous US Army installation in Kentucky, known as the spot where the US government keeps most of its official gold reserves. They rest inside a fortified vault building next to the Army post of the same name. It is where more than half of the US Treasury’s gold gets stored, roughly 4,600 metric tons. It got constructed in 1936 and received its first gold shipments the following year. Security is super tight at Fort Knox, featuring a fenced perimeter with minefields and razor wire. The Fort Knox vault has a door that features a 100-hour time lock, which can only get opened by staff members privy to separate dial combinations. Due to its state-of-the-art safety measures, Fort Knox often gets used as a term to specify something unbreakable and super secure. Thus, it is no wonder why a game provider saw fit to utilize this facility, an enormous vault containing heaps of gold bullions, as a suitable motif for a slot game.
There is not a lot to talk about Pork Knox’s visual presentation. It utilizes gold, blues, and shades of violet to give off an elegant vibe. The graphics here are 2D, crisp painterly images, and the setting is what we assume is a Fort Knox hall or one from some other government building. All that said, the real star of the show here is the 1930s swing-like soundtrack. It is something you do not hear every day in a slot game, and it works rather well with the gameplay, mixing nicely with the sound effects of this slot. Thus, we have to say that while presentation-wise, this game is not spectacular, everything blends well enough. Note that there are some 3D animations in the Pork Knox bonus features.
The buttons panel here is the standard new NetEnt one. The spin button is in the bottom middle of your screen, while the win/balance info is to its right, and the bet-adjuster and auto-spin function are to its left.
Specs & Gameplay
Pork Knox is a five-reel, three-row slot with twenty paylines. Wins here form when you land three or more matching symbols on a predefined payline, starting from the leftmost reel. Pork Knox boasts a medium variance with an excellent hit frequency of 32.49 and a default RTP of 96.02% (4% progressive jackpot contribution). The max exposure of this game is x1,000 (not counting the jackpot), and the bet sizes here range from $0.2 at the low end and $100 on the high one. The progressive prize here can pay out a reward worth over one million dollars/euros. It also has two lesser jackpot wins titled Mini and Midi.
The low-paying symbols of Pork Knox are the four card suits. These pay wins of either x1 or x3 for five-of-a-kind. The high-paying ones are a gold key, a money clip with cash, a bag of gold coins, and four gold bars. Landing five identical symbols from this group will yield a win worth from x5 to x15 your stake.
A gold coin stack is this game’s mystery symbol, and it can appear on the reel grid, transforming into any other token, except for the Scatter, which is a vault. A piggy bank is a symbol that only appears in the Cash Stacker feature, which we discuss below.
If you managed to get three Scatters to stop on a single spin, the base gameplay transforms into a Pick ‘Em game, where you have to choose a Scatter, and it will reveal either an instant win, free spins, or provide entry into the Cash Stacker mode. The game can supply five, ten, or twenty complimentary reel rotations. That number depends on the landed Scatters, three, four, or five. You cannot retrigger the free spins mode, and all wins landed inside it get multiplied by x3.
The Cash Stacker feature is where the game’s three jackpots lie. It does not take place on the base 5×3 grid but has its own 5-6-7-6-5 layout, where only Cash Stacker symbols can land, each one carrying a random value of x0.25 to x15. The mode starts you off with three spins, and this number resets each time you land one or more piggy banks. Piggy banks always move to the lowest unoccupied space on the reels, where they remain until this feature ends. You have to fill the middle three reels to win one of the three offered jackpots. The third one pays out the progressive prize. Filling the second, third, fourth, and fifth row with piggy banks activates an x2, x3, x4, and x5 multiplier, respectively. These multiply the symbol values of the piggy banks in each row.
It is time to come clean. Pork Knox is essentially a clone of NetEnt’s Vegas Night Life, released in 2020. The development team did little concerning upgrading Pork Knox’s visuals compared to Vegas Night Life. The low-paying symbols here are the same, and so are the fonts and colors used. Nonetheless, we fancied this release more, so we are highlighting it. The Cash Stacker feature in both games is decent, and we always love Pick ‘Em options. However, what we most loved about Pork Knox is its soundtrack. All in all, this is a decent spinner that will not blow anyone’s socks off but is worth a look. For some reason, we have a soft spot for it.
