Crazy Pachinko Game Review

GOSU GAME REVIEW

Evolution Gaming is an internet casino software provider that can seemingly develop a gambling game out of almost anything. In a world littered with slots, poker, card, and roulette games, Evolution’s array of live casino game show titles is a breath of fresh air. While there are a few zany titles out there in this provider’s portfolio, few are as wacky as Crazy Pachinko.

Just as its name suggests, Crazy Pachinko is a game that is loosely themed on the Japanese arcade and gambling option of the same name. It is as close to a live casino slot as you’ll currently be able to find online, and we’re going to cover everything you need to know about Crazy Pachinko right here. Let’s get stuck in by looking at the design of this colorful, exciting, and high-octane live dealer game.

Theme and Design

On the face of it, Crazy Pachinko looks a bit like a slot, and that’s to be expected. It is, after all, based on a real land-based game. Crazy Pachinko was developed by Evolution Gaming and first debuted in August 2023. The game is played with multiple phases, and each of those uses a slightly different setup. Therefore, most of the action takes place on a “wall”, with an energetic human dealer keeping you updated as the action unfolds over the live stream during the final phase.

If you’re lucky enough to make it to the bonus round, an immense wall comes into play, and that’s where the real action can be had. That wall features a Plinko-style game, and we’ll get to that in a moment. As for the rest of the design, if you’ve played any of Evolution Gaming’s game show releases, you’ll know what to expect here. If not, you’ll find your wagering options below the live feed, and any actions you need to take will pop up on the interface menus as the game commences.

Specs and Gameplay

Crazy Pachinko can best be described as a combination of a game show release but also a five-reel slot machine. It combines elements of both. There are three phases to the game, namely the Qualification Phase, the Top-Up Phase, and the Pachinko Bonus Round. Before you get to any of those, though, you’ll need to slap down a bet.

Crazy Pachinko has a basic RTP rate of 96.05% when playing with the XXXtreme Spin. Playing the game normally (or with the Feature Buy mode active) sees a marginally lower RTP rate of 96.04% in play. The Top-Up round is the least beneficial in terms of RTP, at 95.01%. We’ll explain what this all means for you shortly. First, let’s get back to those bets.

The total amount you can bet can differ depending on the brand of casino you choose to join. For instance, while some sites may feature a more reserved betting range starting at $0.10 and rising to $10.00, others are known to feature bets of up to $750, sometimes more. This is common for many online casinos supporting Evolution’s live dealer games. Once your bet is made, the game commences with the Qualification Phase.

The first phase begins with a five-reel, ten-line slot. You’re trying to land three scatters here to progress to the Top-Up Phase. However, like any slot machine, landing winning combos on the game’s paylines will result in a win. Payouts for Jacks, Queens, Kings, Aces, Cherries, and Scatters will vary. Three to five Jacks, for instance, deliver wins that stretch from 0.3x up to 1.5x, while the same number of scatters offer wins of 5x to 20x.

As with many modern slots, there is a Feature Buy mode where you can buy your way right into the bonus round, but at 75x your stake, it’s considerably costly. You can also choose to play with different spin modes, which, in theory, will make it easier to get to the Pachinko Bonus. The XXXtreme Spin mode offers you at least one scatter per spin, while the Sticky Scatters mode allows them to drop one row at a time on each spin, prolonging their time on the reels and giving you a greater likelihood of making the bonus.

Once you’ve landed three scatters, you’ll enter the Top-Up Phase. This is played as a 4×4 grid. There are sixteen slots at the bottom, and multipliers will pop up on each spin on this second slot. You can increase your bet here (if you want), and that will raise the value of the multipliers that appear on the screen from 2x up to 10,000x. Your time in this mode may depend on when you enter it, although you have the option of delaying the Pachinko Bonus to stick around in this part of the game a bit longer. When the timer reaches zero, you’ll progress to the final part of the game unless, of course, you’ve joined with less than ten seconds left on the clock and want to remain in the Top-Up Phase.

Bonus Features

The final part of the bonus round is live and features a Pachinko wall. If you’ve played Plinko and other similar games before, you’ll know what to expect here. Multipliers range from 10x up to 200x. A puck is dropped by the host, and it will bounce and dart around the board as it falls into one of sixteen drop zones at the bottom. These feature random multipliers, any Top-Up Multipliers won in the previous phase, and any scatter multipliers from the first phase.

Random multipliers can boost your winnings, but you’ll ideally want to land in the Double Zone. Here, all the multipliers featured on the wall will increase, and the host will drop another puck down the wall. With a bit of luck, that should result in a more extensive and more valuable win. Crazy Pachinko has a maximum win of $1,000,000, which is not to be sniffed at.

GOSU Verdict

Crazy Pachinko is offering you something different. Its RTP rate is roughly the same as what you’d expect to see in genuine five-reel, ten-line slots, so we’ll commend Evolution Gaming for that. Unlike some of the developer’s other titles – where you won’t win much during a qualification phase – you can still pocket decent enough prizes in Crazy Pachinko, even if you don’t get to the bonus. This makes it worth having a shot at, even if it takes a little time for you to land the Pachinko Bonus.
